Perfect position, caravan very clean, but extremely cold time of year and unfortunately interior of caravan was mouldy in places. I am convinced this was due to how cold the caravan became without heating, rather than lack of cleaning, as otherwise it was spotless. Site kindly left heating on prior to our arrival, which really helped.

Took my 3 grandchildren there for a weekend and despite having booked it for 2018, we arrived a year early the staff were fantastic and found us the same style caravan. Entertainment was great and all staff in bars and restaurants very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault it and will definitely be back next year .

Hi Leeanne,

Whilst I'm pleased to read you found the location, views and people lovely, I'm sorry we did not get all aspects of your stay quite right, I will be sure to share your feedback with our food and beverage manager, as a team we are always eager to understand where we went wrong, and what necessary improvements we can make for future.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

We decided to visit Sandylands Park for a number of reasons. Firstly as a first holiday for our 6 year old Belgerian Shepusky and secondly as we were considering buying a caravan on this site so thought it a good idea to see what it was like first.
After booking for a Friday to Monday I started looking for reviews. Many reviews said the park was "tired" and that their caravan was smelly, dirty, etc etc etc along with other negative terms. One in particular mentioned a particular caravan number and described it in horrendous terms. I feared that this would be the caravan that I would get as Sod's law always kicks in with me.
We checked in on Friday 27/10 and lo and behold I did get the "dreaded caravan."
I nearly died.
We went to the van and I opened the door expecting to smell satans breath and see the pits of hell. Well, wasn't I surprised. The van did smell but it was a pleasant fresh smell. The caravan instead of being either hot or cold with no setting in between was roasting hot but after finding the boiler it was easy to regulate the temperature. The caravan was clean and tidy and there was no mould in the bathroom or around the shower. I should state that the caravan was one of the pet friendly ones and there was not a trace of wet dog or any other odour. The hob was spotless and the van was clean. The only little hiccough was that one of the curtains on the long window was off the runners at one end.
All in all it was a great caravan and my fears were totally unfounded.
The staff were very friendly and were concerned when I had to check out early but this was down to my dog not settling and nothing to do with the caravan or the park.

The on site disabled/baby change facilities need attention, holes in the walls and dirty compared to the other toilets.
