Having stayed at other Park Dean camps across the UK, including Ty Mawr in North Wales, Ocean Edge in Morecombe, Torquay on the English Riviera and last year at Mullion in Cornwall - we knew exactly what we were in for - except we didn't.

Whereas the parks mentioned above boasted quality facilities and great entertainment, unfortunately Sunnyvale was a little bit lacking.

Don't get me wrong, the site was really well kept with neatly trimmed grass, no litter and decent space between the caravans - but the general size and scale of what the park has to offer is not on a par with what I have experienced of the rest of the Park Dean centres.

At the end of a good day exploring the local area, we love nothing more than spending the evening in the Clubhouse, with the resident Troopers and whatever is on - game shows, quizzes, the visiting cabarets etc - but disappointingly the quality of entertainment fell short. Just one cabaret act (a magician) for the 4 nights we stayed at Sunnydale with lots of background music. The Troopers do have their work cut out though - it's a very small room with a low roof - infact when the kids rabbit character came on to the stage his ears kept scraping the ceiling!

The bar and restaurant staff were on the money - lots of smiles and good service. We ate there twice, no problems at all. The swimming pool was fine too, great water temperature and laid back, friendly lifeguards.

The kids remarked on a couple of things they don't have at Sunnyvale which they could probably do with: a pool table and a football pitch or sports court. Bike hire might work well given the flat terrain of the coastal paths.

We had a brilliant time at Sunnydale, not least because we don't rely on the parks to make or break the holiday - I firmly believe it's all down to us as holidaymakers to make the effort to have a great time - you will enjoy the quirks and cuteness of Sunnydale - just remember that if you love big bouncing parks, it's probably not for you.

Our caravan was in need of an update. The flooring had cracks and holes and the microwave was rusty. A bed was missing in the twin room. We like the area and we tried to spend more time out if the caravan as it was not comfortable.

Caravan was dirty, no hot water, swimming pool and soft play area too small for the amount of adults and children on holiday park, stool (poo) behind toilet in mens changing room, shop shutting at 1830 not very convenient
