About Westward Ho!

This popular seaside resort is celebrated for more than just its unusual name. It sports a huge stretch of fine Blue Flag award-winning beach where you can try out any number of watersports, including surfing, bodyboarding, kite surfing and windsurfing; you can even learn to kite buggy along the glorious golden sands.

Of course, you can always just relax! With two miles to wander, you’re certain to find a quiet spot where you can simply breathe in the sea views, listen to the waves and appreciate colourful sunsets. The kids will love it here too, with the sandcastle-perfect shore boasting many mysterious rock pools.

The beach is tucked up against the Royal North Devon Golf Club, which is England’s oldest course, and the beautiful Northam Burrows Country Park which offers some fine coastal walks. Afterwards, visit one of the resort’s many cafes, pubs and tea rooms for a refreshing treat.
